What is the primary focus of your research?
My main research interests are on some of the local prevalent cancers such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma and non-small cell lung cancer.
I have broad scientific interest in multi-disciplines. As a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner, apart from cancer, I am keen on immunology, diabetes, proteomics and Chinese medicine.
What are the most exciting developments arising from current research in your area?
My work was featured at utilizing high-throughput mass spectrometry technology and microRNA to discover biomarkers for cancer diagnosis, treatment prediction and prognostication.

Some colleagues in the University of Hong Kong.
How did you come to be working in your research area?
After joining the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, I have great interest in studying nasopharyngeal carcinoma, lymphoma and non-small cell lung cancer.
What do you think about the development of open access publishing? Have you published in an open access journal? What motivated you to do so?
This is the trend of publication as it is easy accessible. I have published in an open access journal.
What articles and/or books have you published recently?
I am publishing book on Chinese medicine and cutting-edge technologies in cancer research.
